"One pot" dinner
1 lb. ground beef
1/2 lb. bacon, cut in small pieces
1 cup chopped onion
2(31 oz.)cans pork & beans
1(16 oz.)kidney beans, drained
1 cup ketchup
1(16 oz.) can butter beans, drained
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 tsp. liquid smoke
3 Tbsp. vinegar
1 tsp. salt
dash pepper

Brown ground beef in skillet; drain off fat; put in crockpot. Brown bacon and onions; drain off fat. Add bacon, onions and remaining ingredients to crockpot. Stir together well. Cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours.

Cakes & Frostings

1-2-3 Fudge Sauce
1 large can evaporated milk
2 cups sugar
3 squares unsweetened chocolate
1 tsp. vanilla
Pinch of salt
Pat of butter

Combine evaporated milk, sugar and chocolate. Bring to a boil over medium heat, cook 5 min. stirring vigorously. Remove from heat and add a good teaspoon of vanilla, and salt and butter or margarine. Beat with a beater for 2-3 min. Serve hot or cold over ice cream or cake.

1 cup butter
2 cups sugar
4 tsp. baking powder
4 egg yolks
4 egg whites
1 cup milk
1 tsp. vanilla or almond

Cream butter, sugar and egg yolks. Sift dry ingredients together and add alternately with milk to butter-sugar mixture. Add vanilla. Fold in egg whites, beaten stiff. Place in greased and floured tube pan. Bake 50-60 min. at 350.

57 Sauce cheddar burgers
1 lb. lean ground beef
1 cup grated cheddar cheese
1/2 cup soft bread crumbs
1/4 cup minced onion
3 Tbsp. Heinz 57 Sauce
1/4 tsp. salt
sandwich buns, toasted

Combine first 6 ingredients. Form into 5 patties. Grill or broil to desired degree of doneness. Serve in sandwich buns; top with additional 57 Sauce, if desired. Makes 5 servings.

Angel Biscuits
1 tsp. sugar
3 Tbsp. very warm water
1 pkg. dry yeast
5 cups flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
3 Tbsp. sugar
1 scant cup Crisco
2 cups buttermilk

Mix 1 tsp. sugar, warm water, and dry yeast. Cover and set aside. Sift flour, salt, baking soda, baking powder, and 3 Tbsp. of sugar together. Cut in scant cup of Crisco. Add buttermilk, then the yeast mixture. Cover dough and refrigerate, if desired. Roll out and bake on cookie sheet at 400-450 for 12-15 min.

Angel Gingerbread
1 cup molasses
2 beaten eggs
1/2 cup sugar
2 cups flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ginger
1/2 cup melted shortening
1 cup hot water

1. Combine the beaten eggs, molasses, and sugar.
2. Mix and sift together the flour, baking soda, salt and spices.
3. When ready to bake add the melted shortening and last of all the hot water.
4. Bake at 350 in a greased and floured 13x9 pan for 30-35 min.
5. Serve plain, with whipped cream or with Pudding Sauce.

Angelic Lobsters
2 1.5 lb Fresh Lbosters
3 tbs Butter
3 cloves Garlic, chopped
2 Shallots, chopped
1 cup White Wine
1 cup Chicken Broth
dash of Red Pepper Flakes
1 lb Angel Hair Pasta, cooked and drained
1 cup Light Cream
1/4 cup Fresh Parsley, chopped
Salt and Pepper to taste

Cook and pick your lobsters. Melt the butter over medium heat and sauté the garlic and shallots for minutes. Add the wine, chicken broth and pepper flakes. Bring to a boil over medium heat until it begins to reduce. Add the lobster meat and heat through. Reduce heat and add the cream. Simmer, stirring constantly for 2 or 3 minutes and then turn off the heat. Pour half the sauce over the pasta and toss. Spoon the remaining sauce over each serving. Enjoy!

Apple butter
3-1/2 qt. slow cooker
enough cut-up apples without skins to fill cooker
3-4 cups granulated sugar
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ground cloves

Cook apples on high till mushy(applesauce). Stir well. Add sugar(this depends on how sweet the apples are and how sweet you want the apple butter to be). Add spices. Stir well. Cover and cook on high setting for about 6 hours, stirring occasionally. Uncover and cook about 2 hours or until thick. Ladle into hot sterilized jars and seal. Process 10 min. in boiling water bath.

2 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups granulated sugar
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. salt
4 cups finely diced, pared apples(about 1/1/2 lbs.)
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 cup soft butter
2 eggs

Sift flour, granulated sugar, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt into a large bowl. Add apples, nuts, butter and eggs. Beat until just combined. It will be thick. Turn into greased 13"x9"x2" pan. Bake one hour at 325. Cool slightly in pan on wire rack. Sprinkle with confectioners sugar if desired. Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream.

Apple crunch pie
1 ready-folded refrig. pie crust(15 oz. box)

Crumb topping:
1 cup flour
1/2 cup each brown sugar and white sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 stick cold butter, cut in pieces

Filling:
7 med-large apples
1 Tbsp. lemon juice
1/2 cup white sugar
3 Tbsp. flour
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/8 tsp. nutmeg

Have ready a 9" pie plate and a cookie sheet. Preheat oven to 450. Prepare pie crust as directed on box for 1 crust pie. Topping-Mix flour, sugars and cinnamon, cutin butter until mixture forms moist coarse crumbs. Filling-peel, halve and core apples, coat with the lemon juice. Mix sugar, flour, cinnamon and nutmeg in small bowl. Sprinkle over apple slices. Put in pie plate. Pat topping over apples. Bake at 425 15 min. Reduce oven to 350 and bake 45 min. longer.

Apple pie
Crust:
Betty Crocker's pie crust sticks, made with milk

Pie:
5-6 apples
1 cup sugar(approx.)*
nutmeg
2 Tbsp. margarine(cut up)**

1. Line pie pan with one crust, then add "pie" ingredients. 2. Cover with top crust; fold edge down over lower crust edge and flute a stand-up edge to hold juice in. 3. Make holes in upper crust with a fork to let steam escape. Pat top crust with a little milk. Bake at 450 10 min., then at 350 40 min.

*Also sprinkle with lemon juice, if desired.

**Put cold water around edge of lower crust to make it sticky!

Apple Spice Muffins
3/4 cup milk
1/4 cup cooking oil
1 egg, beaten
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
2 cups unsifted flour
1 Tbsp. baking powder
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 cup finely chopped, pared apples
1/2 cup raisins

Add milk to the egg; stir in oil. In a separate bowl, mix dry ingredients thoroughly. Stir in apples and raisins. Add liquid mixture and stir just until most of the dry ingredients are moistened. Do not overmix; batter will be lumpy. Bake at 400 for 20-25 min.

4 cups coarsely chopped apples
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
2 cups flour
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. salt
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 tsp. vanilla

Combine apples and sugar; let stand. In a separate bowl, beat eggs slightly; then heat in oil and vanilla. Mix and sift baking soda, flour, cinnamon, and salt. Stir into egg mixture alternately with apple mixture. Stir in walnuts. Pour into a greased 13x9x2 pan and bake at 350 for about 1 hour.

1/2 cup shortening
1 cup sugar

1 tsp.vanilla
2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 cup sour cream
2 cups finely chopped apples
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 Tbsp. flour

Cream together sugar and shortening. Add eggs and vanilla. Beat well. Sift together 2 cups flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Addto the cream mixture alternately with the sour cream. Fold in chopped apples and spread batter into a greased 13"x9" pan. In a sparate bowl combine nuts, bown sugar, cinnamon and 2 Tbsp. flour. Mix well and sprinkle over batter. Bake in an oven for 35-40 min. at 350.

Mix:

1 cup sugar
1/3 cup Crisco
1 egg
1 cup unsweetened applesauce
1 cup chopped raisins
1/2 cup chopped nuts

Add:

1 cup flour
1 tsp. baking soda

1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. nutmeg

Bake in an 8x8 pan for 50-60 min. Ice with butter frosting.

1/3 cup softened butter
1 1/3 cups sugar
1 egg
1 2/3 cups flour
1 Tbsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. allspice

2/3 cup raisins
1/3 cup nuts

Beat butter and sugar until creamy. Beat in egg. Mix dry ingredients together. Stir into creamed mixture. Then add applesauce, raisins, and nuts. Bake at 350 for 50-55 min.

Applesauce salad
1 cup applesauce
1 pkg. strawberry jello
1 cup ginger ale
mini marshmallows

Cook applesauce stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Add jello. Stir till disolved. Add ginger ale. Wait till foam goes down, then add marshmallows. Chill.

Apricot chicken
1(10 oz.) jar apricot preserves
1(8 oz.) bottle Russian Dressing
4 whole boneless chicken breasts(substitute: boneless chicken thighs)
1 small can apricots
1 pkg. dry Lipton onion soup(opt.)

Heat oven to 350. In small mixing bowl, mix apricot preserves, apricots, onion soup mix and dressing. Split chicken breasts. Place in roasting pan. Pour sauce over chicken. Bake for 1 hour.

Ashley's one-pan chocolate cake
3 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1/2 cup cocoa
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. vanilla
2 tsp. vinegar
1 cup salad oil
2 cups water

Combine dry ingredients in a large bowl. Poke three holes in the mixture. Place the vanilla in one hole, the vinegar in the second hole and the salad oil in the third hole. Pour the water over all and mix with a spoon until smooth. Bake at 350 for 30 to 40 min.
